Things took a drastic turn for BJP state unit with TDP losing the 2019 battle in Andhra Pradesh. While there have been strong rumours in political circles that the Chief Minister plays a crucial role in the BJP president candidate, life came a full circle for state unit with Jagan’s decision now turning crucial.
With almost five months of delay, appointing new president again came to limelight, while high command in Delhi is learnt to move pawns in the state politics. Besides turning against Jagan joining hands with farmers of ‘Save Amaravati’ agitation, present BJP president Kanna Lakshminarayana is also arguing that the sentiments of Hindus are not being respected by Jagan’s government. Sources revealed that a meeting was called between BJP senior minister Santosh, National General Secretary Ram Madhav, BJP national president JP Nadda and other leaders.
The fight is now between present president Lakshminarayana and MLC PVN Madhav. The other names doing the rounds are D Purandeswari and P Manikyala Rao who are said to have comparatively less mass base. However, despite swimming against the Chief Minister’s will, Kanna is said to be the state leaders favourite in wake of the political developments in the state. While the high command is rumoured to already take the decision, we have to wait and see the final call.
