Hearing the arguments regarding the quash petition filed APSEC Nimmagada Ramesh Kumar, Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday stalled the CID probe into the involvement of employees in the forgery of letters by SEC.
Suspending the inquiry on the employees, the High Court adjourned the next hearing to next Monday. The court also instructed the CID officials to submit a detailed affidavit as to why and on whom the case was filed and being investigated.
The Home Secretary, DGP, CID Additional DG, Union Home Secretary and others were named as respondents. The petitions also requested that the high court directs the Central government to order an inquiry through any Central agency.
It can be recalled that Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar and SEC assistant secretary Samba Murthy filed two quash petitions against the Director-General of Police and the CID authorities who allegedly filed a false and frivolous case against.
It is to the known knowledge that senior YSRCP leader and Rajya Sabja member Vijayasai Reddy shot off a letter to DGP Gautam Sawang and Home Ministry which lead to a CID probe.
Expressing objection over the above, Nimmagadda in his petition stated that the government was interfering in the duties of the Election Commission while a case of harassment had been registered.
