With 48 new positive cases, Andhra Pradesh’s COVID-19 tally in the state increased to 2,719 cases reported in the last 24 hours till 9 a.m. on Tuesday. Hinting that the number of cases is nowhere slowing down, the state has been registering not less than 40 cases from the past few days competing with neighbouring Telangana.
According to the recent bulletin issued by the health authorities, 8,148 samples were tested in the last 24 hours amongst which 48 turned positive. Reportedly, 55 patients recovered and were discharged taking the total active cases to count to 759. The cumulative total of the discharged in the state now stands at 2,009.
Among the 48 new cases, 4 of them, all from Chittoor, have a travel history of visiting Koyembedu wholesale market in Chennai. Meanwhile, the death toll old at 57 with a new death on Monday. On the positive side, the recovery rate of 67.35 per cent in Andhra Pradesh is better than 41.61 per cent at the national level.
