Though it touched a bit late, Coronavirus in Andhra Pradesh has been taking a toll at the state health authorities with the number of positive cases, not on the verge of slowing down. Though the neighbouring state Telangana claims to record a slope in positive cases graph, the AP government is facing sharp criticism over understating the outbreak right from the starting phase.
However, if the information from the local media is to be believed, Telangana health authorities have been testing comparatively less number of people from the past 15 days. Meanwhile, AP in a roll of health bulletin claims to test not less than 8,000 suspected patients per day. Who is on the right track..?
In the wake of India crossing the 10,46,450-mark of coronavirus tests, World Health Organisation came to the rescue of the country stating that it has been on the right track ramping up the number of testings snubbing aside the fear of increasing positive cases. In the line of these statistics, 754 people for every 10 lakh population are being tested while Andhra Pradesh recently set the record by testing more than 2,000 people for every 10 lakh population.
On this note, the officials informed that they have ramped up the number of testings irrespective of the fear of state being on bad books with an increasing number of case. They claimed to follow a protocol of testing as many people as possible, identifying the infected and shifting them to isolation wards.
Corona stats also revealed that the infection rate in AP is also very low compared to other states and the death rate also significantly reduced. Rounding it off, national political experts and health analysts have opined that AP is on the right track despite the fact that situations are quite out of control.
