The High Courts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on Friday have got new Chief Justice(CJ). Upon the recommendations of Supreme Court collegium Prashant Kumar Mishra, who has so far served as the Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh, has been appointed as the Andhra Pradesh CJ.
Meanwhile, Karnataka High Court acting CJ Satish Chandra Sharma has been transferred as the Chief Justice of Telangana High Court. Reportedly, the recommendations were sent for President’s approval. It can be noted that Supreme Court Justice NV Ramana administered the oath of office to the new judges on August 31st.

All eyes are now on Prashant Kumar MishraAndhra who is expected to take charge of the Andhra High Court pertaining to the long-pending case regarding the formation of three capitals for the state in place of Amaravati. Many speculated that the case would again come to the starting point with the new bench taking over it.
