The growing crime against women in the state has gone unchecked. The state capital, Hyderabad, became a haven for these atrocities. While the recent Jubilee Hills Amnesia Minor gang-r*pe case, which has caused a stir across the country is still a widely discussed topic, another atrocity has taken place in a star hotel.
The victim, a young woman working for the United Nations, went to the Roof Top Pub Lounge under the Rayadurg Police Station area on Sunday with two friends. Eight young men who were there behaved rudely towards the victim in the pub itself. Someone approached the victim asking for their cellphone number. The victim refused to give the number.
The young men forcibly took her aside and attacked the victim. They further attacked the victim’s friend with an alcohol bottle. There are allegations of intimidation of pub managers who tried to resist the attack on the victim. The victim sustained serious injuries in the attack and went straight from the pub to the hospital. She later complained to the police.
According to reliable sources, the police registered a case and identified the accused as the sons of some influential people in the state. The victim alleges that the police risked misrepresenting the case. They demanded to check the CC footage in the pub. She urged the government to take initiative in this matter and help her in getting justice.
Allegations are rife that the Jubilee Hills incident involved the children of ruling party leaders. And on a similar line, against this backdrop, another incident came to light which became sensational across the state. Criticisms are heard that the children of the rich and influential people have become law enforcers no matter what they do and that they are committing r*pes and atrocities with that courage. How will the police react to this incident has become the topic of discussion.
