Followed by the wrath from various Hindu outfits across the state over Antarvedi chariot fire accident incident, Jagan-led Andhra Pradesh government on Thursday called for a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI).
Stating that the state government is serious over the issue, CMO in a release refuted the political propaganda by oppositions through social media and press meets.
“Andhra Pradesh police took the case of Antarvedi Chariot fire incident as challenging and investigating the case seriously. Even after that, some political forces and groups are making vicious propaganda on the matter and spreading lies in social media and press meets,” Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said in a statement.
The statement also confirmed that the Director-General of Police(DGP) wrote a letter to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs upon the instructions from the CM for a fair and investigation.
It can be noted that all main officials at Antarvedi Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple including the were suspended while an inquiry committee was constituted by the Endowments Additional Commissioner.
This call came hours after thousands of leaders and activists of Bharatiya Janata Party and Jana Sena sat on an 11-hour long hunger strike “Dharma Parirakshan Deeksha” all over Andhra Pradesh in protest seeking justice.
The chariot of the famous Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Antarvedi of East Godavari district was gutted in a fire mishap in the early hours of September 6.
