While the state is at doldrums with budget crunch and protests over the capital issue, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan shocked the state yet again with another G.O. Days after facing rife criticism over allowing crores of government funds to the residence at Tadepalli, seems like the Jagan-led government didn’t mend its ways. In a G.O issued by the CMO, the government sanctioned a whopping amount of Rs 27 crores for the development works at YSR Memorial in Idupulapaya. The amount will be dedicated to developing the area around the tomb of YS Rajasekhar Reddy, former CM and father of Jagan situated in Rajiv Knowledge Valley in Idupalapaaya village, Kadapa district.
The Ministry of Tourism has given a green signal to the proposal sent by the AP Tourism Development Corporation’s MD to allocate necessary funds for the beautification of the area around YSR Memorial. The funds also include the beautification works across the 10 KM road leading to the memorial and greening works around IIIT in Idupulapaya. A wave of criticism hit the government over misusing the public money for personal interests of CM’s family. While a number of infrastructure projects across the state were at a halt due to the economic slowdown in the state, the government allocating bulk amounts from the state funds triggered criticism from all ends of political spectrum.
