Followed by the criticism triggered with a series of G.Os sanctioning over sizeable funds to the residence of Chief Minister Jagan, the state government has finally cancelled a total of sanctioned funds worth Rs 2.87 crore on Friday. In accordance with this, the Roads and Buildings (R&B) department issued 6 government orders which cancelled some of the sanctioned funds. The row started with the state government sanctioning Rs 73 lakh for installing doors and windows at the CM’s residence which ended up with criticism from national media also. The Jagan-led government didn’t back off regarding the funds, sanctioning another of Rs 1.2 crore for annual maintenance of the residence. These G.Os right when the state is suffering from the financial crisis has gained traction from all ends of the political spectrum. These funds have also been withdrawn by the R&B department, along with an amount of Rs 24.5 lakh allotted for security arrangements at the CM’s Lotus Pond residence in Hyderabad’s Banjara Hills.
