Amaravati: Amidst the agitations of almost 50,000 TSRTC employees to press for their long-standing demands, Andhra Pradesh government has released a G.O. which came as good news of sorts for the RTC employees in AP. The State government constituted a six-membered panel with TR&B Principal Secretary as chairman to study the recommendations made on the merger of the ASPRTC with the government. The state government also ordered to look into establishing a new Department of Public Transport (PTD). The Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, the Secretary of the General Administration, the Secretary to the Public Enterprises and the Secretary of Law will serve as the other members. The appointed committee needs to submit a report within a period of three months. The panel will also examine the matching of existing cadres of all employees into equivalent cadres and to make payments of wages every month through APCFMS.
