AP to have four capitals?

Last Updated: September 9, 2019 at 5:30 pm

BJP MP TG Venkatesh claims that Jagan had spoken to BJP

Shoving the people of AP into further bewilderment, here comes another statement from the state leaders stirring up the hornet’s nest. Hours after JanaSena’s chief appealed to take back the decision of shifting the capital from Amaravati, TG Venkatesh’s made sensational remarks on the issue. The sitting BJP MP from Andhra Pradesh on Monday claimed that the YSRCP led State government may consider going for four capitals at Vizianagaram, Kakinada, Guntur and Kadapa. Speaking to reporters at Kurnool Mr Venkatesh also said that Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy shared his plans of shifting out the state capital from Amaravati with the Bharatiya Janata Party leadership at the Centre.

“Like four seasons, we can have four capitals in the state. Whatever Jagan plans on doing, it is evident that the centralisation of Amaravati would be disturbed,”  he added. TG Venkatesh assured that the decision will be a welcoming move which will be hailed by the people of all the different regions of the state. Venkatesh, who had joined the BJP from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) earlier this year, pointed out that Jagan had even made a similar promise on decentralising the capital, during his padayatra.
