While the political circles are still rife with temple vandalisation controversy, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy grabbed national media’s attention on Tuesday meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The sudden visit assumes significance as it comes after the state BJP leaders lodged complaints with the Centre against the Jagan Mohan Reddy government over the recent desecration of idols in temples.
While the agenda behind the meeting is kept under covers, CMO sources claimed that it was around the approval of the Revised Cost Estimates (RCE) of Polavaram project to the tune of Rs 55,656 crore at the 2017-18 price level index.
Reportedly, the meeting went on for 1 hour and 25 minutes in New Delhi where Jagan sought the RCE approval and release of funds at the earliest for completion of Polavaram in time. It was learnt that CM Jagan discussed several matters like approval for the 2nd Revised Cost Estimates (RCE), decentralisation of capital activities.
Issue of notification for setting up of Kurnool High Court, the special station for Andhra Pradesh, revenue deficit, and permit for Covid vaccination and medical colleges were also brought to the notice of the Home Minister.
