Days after fathoming victory over Andhra Pradesh government regarding the ordinance removing him from the post of state election commissioner(SEC), Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar yet again moved the High Court seeking justice. The bureaucrat on Thursday filed a petition in the High Court seeking orders to stop CID probe into involvement of employees in the forgery of letters by SEC.
It is to the known knowledge that senior YSRCP leader and Rajya Sabja member Vijayasai Reddy shot off a letter to DGP Gautam Sawang and Home Ministry which lead to a CID probe. Expressing objection over the above, Nimmagadda in his petition stated that the government was interfering in the duties of the Election Commission while a case of harassment had been registered.
The petition also urged the court to direct the state government to hand over the goods seized by the CID from the Election Commission office. SEC assistant secretary K Samba Murthy who was slapped with CID enquiry for allegedly tampering the evidence in connection with Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar’s letter to Home Ministry also filed a petition in the court against the probe.
The High Court adjourned the next hearing on the two petitions to Monday.
