Two months back, things were different with the Chinese, who first fell prey for the fast-spreading Coronavirus which by then started claiming hundreds of lives. In no time the government emerged out victorious bringing the conditions under control. Meanwhile, the action plan of China’s administration has now become the case study for many countries that are now fighting against the pandemic.
Sources close to Chinese health department confronted that the advanced technology proved the most reliable in both handling and mitigating its immediate effects. Reportedly, data science, robotics and big data helped the government right from identification, diagnosis, tracking and consultation. Artificial Intelligence(AI) i.e, intelligent computers and machines, which are trained to think and work like humans at all phases of the outbreak including mass detection and containment.
The recovery can be quoted as the perfect integration of public and private integration to face the pandemic efficiently. Chinese tech giants Alibaba and Baidu joined hands with the government in the combat. While Alibaba’s algorithm helped in identifying pneumonia with an accuracy of 96 per cent, within 20 seconds, the other companies like Tencent, DiDi, and Huawei, have offered up their supercomputers and cloud computing resources to researchers to help them fast track the development of treatments and vaccines.
During the lockdown, many of the hospitals used the urban-air transportation channel to help to fight the novel coronavirus. Hundreds of drones were deployed to deliver medicines which minimised the human interaction thereby reducing the risk of transmission of the virus. Meanwhile, Indian is looking into the same action plan with the outbreak entering the third stage in the country. A few of the hospitals and health centres were seen with humanoid robots distributing sanitisers and napkins encouraging the citizen to maintain clean hands.
