While banners bearing messages like ‘Dhanyawad Dilli’ floated all around the historic Ramlila Maidan, Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal took oath as the Chief Minister on Sunday amidst the slogans “Hum Honge Kamyab”. Days after the sweeping victory in the Delhi Assembly elections scooping up 62 of 70 seats, Arvind Kejriwal and his six ministers took oath at a ceremony held in Ramlila maidan attended by thousands of AAP supporters and Delhites.

While Kejriwal swore-in for the third consecutive time as the Chief Minister, his deputy Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain, Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Imran Hussain and Rajendra Gautam joined his new cabinet in the huge ceremony. “Your son has taken oath for the third time as Delhi chief minister, this is not my victory but yours,” said Arvind Kejriwal after he took the oath. He also thanked the Delhi voters who did their part in changing Indian politics.
However, it was the 50 special guests who joined Kejriwal on the dais the stole the show. Dubbed as “Delhi ke Nirmata” (makers of Delhi), the guests’ list included the teachers, bus marshalls, architects of the Signature Bridge, the family of firefighters who lost their lives, bus driver, auto driver, metro driver and farmers. AAP also invited various Anganwadi and doorstep delivery workers, safai karamchari to the ceremony. Amongst all, “Baby Mufflerman” – one-year-old Aavyan Tomar who struck to limelight after AAP’s thumping victory stole the spark.
