Taking a cue from the offer made by Technocrat E Sreedharan, fondly known as India’s Metro Man’ that he is open to chief ministership if the party asks, the BJP high command on Thursday announced the former as the CM face of the party in Kerala.
Taking to their official Twitter handle, Union Minister V Muraleedharan and BJP state president K Surendran made the announcement promising to release the whole list of candidates contesting very soon.
It can be noted that Sreedharan who joined the BJP amid much fanfare in February had evinced interest in contesting for the Chief Minister’s post.
The 89-year-old engineer who is credited with executing several prestigious projects in the country including the Konkan Railway, Delhi Metro and Kochi Metro is all ready to set ripples in Kerala politics stated that his aim is to help the party come to power in Kerala.
Kerala will vote in a single phase on April 6 with results due May 2.
