While tensions continued to run high n live bird markets, zoos and poultry farms in the country, the Centre on Monday confirmed the fresh list of states that have been affected by the Avian Influenza a.k.a bird flu.
Kerala, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh are the seven states in the list until January 10th, Delhi, Uttarakhand and Maharashtra are fresh states that joined the list on Monday. Tensions broke high in the nation’s capital with the government confirming the presence of the H5N1 strain on Monday.
“Till January 11, 2021, Avian Influenza has been confirmed in 10 states of the country,” the department of animal husbandry and dairying said in a statement.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday asked all state governments to remain alert and ensure that local administration keeps a constant vigil near places like water bodies, zoos and poultry farms.
