In the wake of the encounter of the accused in Disha’s case, the other long pending cases in the same line became debatable. On this note, the rape and brutal murder of Ayesha Meera, a Vijayawada student which shook the state 12 years back came back to limelight again. CBI which has been investigating the case has reportedly decided to conduct re-postmortem on Ayeesha Meera’s body. Sources revealed that the CBI officials have issued necessary instructions to the local authorities.
CBI has been investigating the case and has reportedly gathered crucial evidence from the accused Satyam Babu and others related to the case. Pertaining to the shreds of evidence collected, CBI is apparently looking to conducted re-postmortem on the body after 12 years as the part of the investigation. On this note, it turned intriguing of what evidences the officials would collect from the buried body which might have decomposed by now. Despite the fact that the deployed SIT collected the evidence, the team failed in proving the convicts behind the heinous rape.
Ayesha Meera, a pharmacy student from Tenali was raped and later murdered in one of the private ladies hostels in the suburb of Vijayawada on December 27, 2007. This case created sensation back then with allegations that the relatives of the then ruling party leaders were involved in the case. Though the police arrested Satyam Babu locking him up for nine years, he came out innocent with High Court orders handing over the case to the CBI.
