Hyderabad: Consolidating the speculations of bidding adios to Congress, former Indian captain and MP Mohammad Azharuddin has met KTR on Saturday. The present Working President of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) who took charge as the President of Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has called on to a meeting with the state’s IT minister along with his other elected members. Talking to the media later, Azhar has however brushed off the political tone around the meeting and stated that it was a courtesy call regarding HCA. “I have come here to request the state government’s support for cricket. It was a courtesy call and I did not discuss politics,” he said. Azhar also stated that he would soon meet the CM also upon the same. He however, but did not deny the speculations regarding his joining the ruling party. On this note, G Vivek, former HCA president, who quit TRS and joined BJP recently, alleged that Azhar’s victory in HCA also has backing from TRS. Nevertheless, this has sent a secret signal that Azhar is all set to join TRS anytime soon.
