It is to the known knowledge that Guntur police detained TDP MP Galla Jayadev on Monday while the leader is taking part in the assembly siege as a part of ‘Chalo Assembly’. However, the arrest took dramatic twists and turns in the wee hours of Tuesday. Sources have it that the leader who was blocked and detained was not produced before the Guntur magistrate until about 3 AM in the midnight. It was reported that Jayadev was restricted to move out of the police vehicle until he underwent medical examination with GGH doctors.
While the Jayadev lawyer was said to appeal for bail Magistrate straight away refused bail pertaining to the non-bailable cases registered against him by the Guntur police. The TDP MP was then shifted to Guntur jail on Tuesday morning. On this note, Jayadev took to his social media handles to share the videos of the police manhandling him who had been on a peaceful protest. He then appealed to the national media to support the farmers who have been waging protests against the government from the past 34 days.
It's no more "To #protect & serve". It's "To provoke & strike". The #Police seem to have lost all sense of #Humanity, resorting to excesses, with complete disregard for the #RuleOfLaw. I rue this day when the police raised their sticks to strike those whom they swore to protect. pic.twitter.com/iBw3QWldy9
