The recent steps taken by the KCR government are resembling a lot of things from the times of Nizam rule. Police brutality has taken a new shape, many of the promises that were made before the elections were long forgotten. Starting from the Dalit Bandhu scheme to the recent introduction of GO 317, the people of Telangana are having an absolute tough time. Especially, the case of BJP at Janagama reflects the denial of democracy in the state by the state government. Talking about the multiple aspects, Bandi Sanjay was angry over the house arrest of BJP leaders during Chief Minister KCR Janagama’s visit. “Should people tremble with fear if the Chief Minister comes out?” he asked. He questioned whether the leaders of opposition parties should be arrested whenever KCR comes out of the farmhouse.
“People are supposed to be happy if the chief minister comes to their area. There is generally a feeling that the problems will be solved, but when KCR comes, people tremble with fear,” said Bandi Sanjay. He alleged that the police forces in the state are terrorizing the people. “Opposition leaders are being arrested and the commoners are detained for no reasons,” he said. The outraged BJP vice president also said that such a vicious rule had not been seen anywhere else in the country.
He opined that in KCR’s regime, TRS and BJP get different kinds of justice. “There is never any case against the TRS leaders who burn the effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. But, if the effigies of CM KCR are burnt, cases will be filed and the activists will be arrested. Is this the constitution of Kalvakuntla? If the constitution of Kalvakuntla is fully implemented, the people will be in more danger. Maybe there will be a day when KCR comes out, we all have to leave the sandals and bow down to the Chief Minister,” said Bandi in a sarcastic tone.
Sanjay said it was unfair to detain BJP leaders and activists at the police station for days. “Are they terrorists?” Are they members of any cult? Why is the CM afraid of BJP activists? If the leaders of the parties supporting the terrorists are roaming freely, how can they arrest the BJP activists who are fighting for the people? Will he continue to arrest everyone who questions him?” he added.
Speaking about the arrests of BJP leaders, Bandi condemned the house arrest of BJP floor leader Raja Singh, MLA Itala Rajender, and Raghunandan Rao while they were on their way to visit activists injured in the attacks by the TRS members. Bandi added, “TRS goons are attacking BJP workers in the presence of police and seriously injuring them. What are the DGP and police officers doing? Are we in a democracy? or is it Nizam’s authoritarian rule? Understandably, people are in a state of anxiety. We have not seen a similar situation in the Telangana movement, which is a struggle of pain and disappointment. No other state in the country is going through this.”
Bandi alleged that the Telangana police had a good reputation throughout the country once upon a time, which is different now after KCR arrived. He said that some policemen were acting like TRS activists. “No matter how many people are arrested .. no matter how many attacks are made, BJP activists are not afraid. KCR should remember that the party that opposed the Naxals in the state was BJP,” added Bandi. He demanded the immediate and unconditional release of all arrested activists and strict action against those responsible for the attacks. Bandi Sanjay warned that the government and the police should be held responsible for all the bad deeds going on in the state today.
