Social Democratic Forum has demanded that Basra IIIT should be given a full-time VC, director, and financier. A round table meeting was held under the auspices of the Social Democratic Forum at Hyderabad Somajiguda Press Club on student issues. Parents of students, social workers, and student union leaders participated in it.
To solve the problems of IIIT students, Social Democratic Forum convener, retired IAS officer Akunuri Murali demanded to give Rs 100 crores. Satires were made to release the allocated funds as funds instead of writing them in the budget books. Also, added that there should be one faculty member for every 30 students.
He accused CM KCR of destroying government education by not giving money even for the basic needs of students. He said that it is careless to not provide funds from the budget for the education of poor children. He expressed surprise that not a single rupee was given from the state budget. He criticized the Chief Minister for not caring about the problems of the poor.
Akunuri reminded people that the government had promised to solve all the problems in Basara IIIT two months ago. He said that he was given VC deputation for one year and what can he do in a year. He asked what he could do if there was no support from the government.
