Bathukamma, the festival which represents the cultural spirit of Telangana celebrating the girl child this year assumed significance amidst the ongoing by-poll fever. However, the festival seems to bring gloom to Kalvakuntla’s sister Kavitha. To the disappointment of MLC fans and followers, Kavitha didn’t find a place in the recently announced list of 20 star campaigners for Huzurabad by-polls.
It can be noted that the TRS supremo included the name of minister KTR who has been maintaining a calculated distance from the poll campaigning. Sources have it that a few of the Huzurabad leaders suggested KCR to field Kavitha in the poll campaigning despite which the CM refused to include the name in the campaigners’ list.
With the Bathukamma festival approaching, many political gurus anticipated that KCR would field Kavitha to bank the female votes. This left the TRS cadre puzzled of why KCR has been deliberately keeping Kavitha away from active politics despite many political advantages.
Kavita, who recently returned from abroad, has been actively involving in party activities again. Speculation in recent times went rife that the MLC will be joined into the cabinet with a prominent portfolio. In contrary to the speculations, the leader now didn’t even find a place in the list of campaigners.
