The district of Guntur and its region of Palnadu in Andhra Pradesh is now completely under the seize of police forces, in view of the rally call given out by the major opposition, TDP leader, N Chandra Babu Naidu. The former chief minister alleged that his party members have been harassed and attacked by the ruling YSR Congress Party, in the recent times. Subsequently, the ruling YSRCP also called for a rally against the atrocities allegedly carried out by TDP during their tenure.
In response to the same, the police force got into action and cancelled all the permissions for carrying out any sort of rallies and protests in the region. Further, all the TDP leaders are also put under house arrests in Guntur and Vijayawada alike. Arrests started with MLC Buddha Venkanna at 12:30 last night. CI Kasi Vishwanadh put him under house arrest to refrain him form participating in the ‘Chalo Atmakur’ rally. Telugu Yuvata leader Devineni Avinash took him into custody and placed him under house arrest. Senior TDP leader Varla Ramayya who was returning from Guntur was also house arrested. Cops have been deputed at East Vijayawada MLA Gade Rammohan’s house. Similar situations prevail in other districts too. As many as 54 TDP leaders have been taken into preventive custody in East Godavari district alone. A huge platoon of police force has been deployed at both bridges to prevent any TDP leader entering into Krishna district from Guntur district.
