Boston Consulting Group (BCG), an international consultancy firm which undertook the study on B submitted its report on Friday. The BCG delegation who met the Chief Minister at CM camp office submitted the report in the presence of CS Nilam and a few other ministers.
While the final suggestions made by the team are yet to be known, the report took prominence in the wake of intensifying protests to take up capital shift proposal. After the GNR Committee’s report which voted for capital in Visakhapatnam, all eyes are on BCG’s report after the Chief Minister announced that his government would take a final call on the state capital based on its recommendations. However, a top official from BCG team who took part in the study happened to reveal that their report was inclined towards setting up capital in a developed city rather than a new one since permanent structures are not yet established.
An aggregated and final report will be submitted by the 16-membered high-powered committee constituted by the state government while the state Cabinet would discuss the three reports to take the final call. The High Power Committee is expected to submit its report within the stipulated three weeks. All the reports will be then discussed in the State Legislature which is expected to take place by mid-February.
