Amidst various speculation around his sudden decision to quit the most hyped PIL 2020, Chennai Super Kings’ Suresh Raina broke his silence hours after he turned to India from UAE.
Referred to as ‘Chinna Thala’ by his South Indian fans, Suresh Raina’s decision to pull out of IPL 2020 has not only came as a thunderous shock to crores of fans but also caught the CSK management by surprise.
While ‘personal reasons’ is quoted as the reason behind his abrupt decision, a number of speculations floated with ‘clash with MS Dhoni and CSK management’ being the latest.
According to N Srinivasan, CSK owner a potential ‘rift’ between Raina and MS Dhoni over the allotment of a hotel room is the main reason behind Raina bidding adieus to the 13th edition of IPL.
However, snubbing all the rumours around his decision, Suresh Raina took to his official Twitter account to reveal details of the crime that claimed the lives of his uncle and cousin and left his aunt and cousin severely injured.
“Unfortunately my cousin also passed away last night after battling for life for days. My bua is still very very critical and is on life support,” read his tweet.

In his tweet, he also requested the Punjab Police to investigate into the matter, since there is no detail on why the incident occurred. Further, Ajay Sethi, the Chairman of the Channel 2 Group confronted that getting concerned about his wife Priyanka and their two young children in the view of the pandemic. Sources confirmed that Raina willingly gave up a salary of 11 crores this season.
