The most awaited moment for many Ram bakths around the world is on the verge of taking shape. The Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust which is formed to facilitate construction of a Ram temple on Wednesday announced that the construction works would commence from August 5th.
Confirming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be attending the groundbreaking ceremony along with 200 other VVIPs, the trust also announced that PM Modi will offer prayers to Lord Ram at the temple and Lord Hanuman at Hanuman Garhi Temple in Ayodhya.
“Maximum social distancing will be ensured at the event for the three-day Vedic rituals at the Ram Janmabhoomi site. The rituals will begin on August 3 and end with a ‘bhumi pujan’ on August 5,” said Swami Govind Dev Giri, Treasurer of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra.
It was learnt that the PM would lay the first brick which was made of silver followed by all Chief Ministers. The trust has reportedly ordered for 150 silver bricks for the ceremony which would be laid by renowned leaders of the Ram Janmabhoomi agitation. Veteran BJP leader and former deputy prime minister LK Advani will also be invited to the ceremony.
Ayodhya’s Ram Temple will be 161-foot tall, the temple architect has said, adding that the original design – prepared in 1988. Two mandaps have also been added to the design and the construction will reportedly take over 4 years for completion.
