Amidst ‘Jai Shree Ram’ chants and crores of Indians watching through the live broadcast, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday laid the first brick of grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya at 12:44pm.
Followed by the bhoomi pujan along with UP Governor Anandiben Patel and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Modi laid the first brick which stood as the momentous moment for Ram Bakts.
The Pujan was conducted with nine bricks which have a high prominence in the Ram Mandhir’s 500 years of legacy. As revealed by the priest presiding over bhoomi pujan the bricks were sent by devotees of Lord Ram from around the world in 1989. There are 2 lakh 75 thousand such bricks out of which 100 bricks with ‘Jai Shri Ram’ engraving for the auspicious pujan.
Address the nation after the bhoomi pujan, Modi termed August 5 a ‘golden day’ and added that Ram Janmabhoomi stands ‘liberated’ today. Modi for today’s event PM Modi donned a gold kurta and white dhoti who bowed down in front of Ram Lalla at Ram Janambhoomi site immediately after he entered.
