They cornered him..taunted him..and hurt him…but they couldn’t stop the love showered by the audience. A journey of 105 days with 17 contested, came to an end on Sunday as Rahul Sipligunj lifted the season’s trophy. As her longtime ‘Tom and Jerry’ rival Sreemukhi walked out as the runner-up, the ‘Dhoolpet Dude’ grabbed the announced Rs 50 lakhs. The all-time entertainer Sreemuki reportedly gave a tough fight for Rahul who won the season with a minute per cent difference of votes as stated by the show organisers. While Nag announced the winner, Megastar Chiranjeevi presented the title trophy and Rs. 50 lakh cheque for
the winner Rahul in the presence of the other 16 contestants and the family members.
In a shandhar finale episode hosted by the season’s host Nagarjuna, stars like Anjali, Catherine and Nidhhi Agerwal entertained the audiences with their glamorous dance performances. Rashi Kanna, director Maruti and actor Srikanth also graced the show. However, the special appearance of Megastar Chiranjeevi as the guest stood as the top-notch point of the finale episode. Audiences went all gaga watching the two stars Nag and Chiru on a single from after an episode of ‘Meelo Year Kotiswarulu’ long back.
Though Rahul was considered to be one of the weakest and troubled contestants in the house, his game slowly gained momentum with the track with Punarnavi Bhupalam. Sreemuki’s spats with Rahul also helped him in gaining votes. Though Sreemuki’s charm all through the show pushed her into the top league, the partiality of sorts displayed by the organisers at times turned positive for the immediate competition Rahul. His friendship with Varun and Vithika also helped in fetching votes unveiling his ‘a-warm-friend’ angle in the youthful singer. In his winning speech, Rahul announced that he would start his own barbershop and buy a house for his parents with the cash prize he won.
