Going by the claims made by the Telangana government over PV Narasimha Rao, the Telugu Leader who served as Prime Minister’s centenary celebrations would be organised on a grand scale, KCR and his team were learnt to decide upon inviting international stalwarts.
Owing to Narasimha Rao’s personal relations with several world leaders during his tenure as External Affairs Minister, the Telangana government mulls to invite former US president Bill Clinton and former British Prime Ministers John Major and David Cameron to the centenary celebrations.
“The invitation will be extended to the former US presidents and Major through the Indian embassy and high commission and also Telugu associations,” stated K Keshava Rao, chairman of PV centenary celebrations committee.
In a review meeting presided by Chief Minister KCR on Friday, the state government resolved to set up PV Memorial in Hyderabad in the view of PV Narasimha Rao’s centenary celebrations. KCR also stated that a resolution demanding the country’s highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna will be passed in the next assembly sessions.
In the line of the recent decision taken by the Telangana state government, Necklace Road will be soon renamed as ‘PV Gnana Marg’ after the name of former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao.
