After the most-expected victory in the floor test, BJP is all set to stake a claim to form the new government in Madhya Pradesh after Kamal Nath resigned as the chief minister last Friday. In the wake of the party heads announcing the legislature party meeting this evening, state political circles are rife with speculations that the Saffron party would come up with the CM candidate for the newly formed government.
Though names of Gopal Bhargava, Union minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Narottam Mishra were on the CM race, senior leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan was sworn back as the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh for the fourth time. In a swearing-in ceremony held at Raj Bhawan at 9 PM, Shivraj assumed the office in the presence of Governor Lalji Tandon. The ceremony took place after the legislature party meeting at 7 PM.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan was rumoured to have continuous contact with the 22 Congress leaders who fled to Bangalore which further led to the state political crisis. The former CM was also in the eyes of national media and party with constant interaction with media, party heads and high command.
