The dynamics of Telangana politics are currently revolving around the suspension of BJP MLAs. The members of the BJP party have already lodged a complaint with the Governor in this regard. However, BJP leader Raghunandan Rao criticized the Speaker for his impatience in dealing with people in the sessions. He called out the speaker, calling him a stain to the democracy, further accused him of ‘being a puppet’ to the ruling party.
Raghunandan said that it was not right to strangle the opposition and that they had the right to protest. He recalled that Congress leaders in the House had also chanted slogans in protest. Adding that he also mentioned that he personally didn’t even raise any slogans. Raghunandan stated that the speaker deliberately suspended the BJP leaders, and everything is pre-planned.
Raghunandan questioned the speaker, “In which constitution is it written that wearing a black scarf is illegal ?” He further criticized the biased and narrow mindset of the speaker. Also asked if It is wrong to wear a scarf, or it is wrong to stand up for himself! He further questioned the speaker on not taking any action against the Congress party members in the session. The BJP leaders also mentioned that the Speaker did not say even once that the House was being disrupted.
“What happened in the assembly was not like a budget speech, it was more like a political speech,” said Raghunandan. He mentioned that the speaker has suspended the BJP members only after KCR signaled him to do so when the right questions about the government’s incompetency had begun surfacing the situation. On the whole, the situation inside the assembly was quite unusual that it was at any day in recent years as the opposition parties felt that the speaker was quite biased on all aspects.
