Arguing over the same topic which ultimately turns into an unstoppable screaming session with the clash of opinions is quite common on news channels’ debate programs. However, the viewers of the live program and BJP leader Vishnuvardhan Reddy were left in shock with an unexpected shock from the Amaravati JAC member who participated in the debate.
In a shocking development, Kolikapudi Srinivasa Rao, a member of Amaravati Parirakshana Samithi Joint Action Committee tried to hit BJP state general secretary S Vishnu Vardhan Reddy with his footwear amidst a heated argument. The whole scenario was recorded live which left the viewers and BJP cadre appalled.
The debate held by one of the leading local channels was about the state cabinet’s decision to extend a government guarantee for raising Rs 3,000 crore from banks for taking up Amaravati projects. While the BJP welcomed the development, the JAC leader found fault with Vishnu Vardhan Reddy for not sticking to the serious issue at hand.
The argument escalated with the BJP leader asking if he needs to do the paid artist work. Enraged by the ‘paid artiste’ remark, Srinivasa Rao removed his footwear and threw it at Vishnu Vardhan Reddy in an attempt to slap the latter live on television.
Reacting to the demands from BJP leaders who condemned the attack, the channel is said to have removed Srinivasa Rao from the list of panellists for debates.
