Dubbaka BJP MLA Raghunandan Rao said that it is not right for the state government to criticize the Center for not giving ITIR. He pointed out that it is not the way to repeatedly accuse and criticize the Telangana government without doing its part.
The IT Minister challenged KTR to come to a public discussion on ITIR. He said that the KCR government is telling lies about ITIR. He spoke that the then UPA government had taken a decision to make ITIR in 2 installments and that the funds released by the Center for ITIR were not spent for the construction of the project.
He reminded that the central government had released 85 crores in 2015 for the first phase of the ITIR project. The MLA asked why the metro did not come from the Imliban bus stand to Falaknama and further demanded that BRS as well as MIM should be held responsible for the non-arrival of the Metro. “MIM is not sincere about the development of the old town,” he added.
He said that the state government must take the responsibility for establishing a new metro from Falaknama to Shamshabad. He expressed anger that the center is being maligned without completing the DPR and acquiring land for the new railway line, also made it clear that the Center is not being biased against the state. Raghundandan Rao then suggested that if only letters are written to the Centre, companies will not come, but if DPRs are given, the work will go ahead.
He concluded by saying that the BRS is systematically attacking the Center and Prime Minister Modi. He then demanded that the BRS government release a white paper on ITIR, adding that the Center has sanctioned more funds than what is due to ITIR.
