Making the speculation over BJP master plan of wooing leaders for Congress and TRS, former chairman of the Legislative Council K. Swamy Goud quit the ruling party on Wednesday to join the saffron bandwagon. The former TRS politburo member joined the party in the presence of national president JP Nadda in Delhi.
Touted to be one of TRS Chief and state CM KCR’s loyalists, Swamy Goud took the major step three days after meeting state unit president Bandi Sanjay and K Laxman over the same. The development came as a shock to state TRS cadre with GHMC polls right around the corner.
Swamy Goud is known to play a crucial role during Telangana separate state agitation leading the T-JAC. He worked as president of Telangana non-gazetted officers association and was made MLC and chairman after the formation of a separate state.
The former TRS leaders were noticed to maintain a safe distance from the TRS party activities after his team as Operation Aakarsh: TRS Leader Swamy Goud Joins BJPMLC from Medak-Nizamabad, Karimnagar and Adilabad constituency ended last year.
