The flow of money and liquor is quite common during the election season. However, this is on an unofficial note. But shocking everyone, BJP AP president Somu Veerraju on Tuesday promised to supply ‘quality’ liquor at Rs 50 per quarter bottle if the BJP was elected to power. To note, the present price of a quarter bottle is over Rs 200.
The BJP state president alleged that the ruling party leaders have liquor factories that supply cheap liquor to the government. These moments made by the BJP senior leader in a public meeting sparked controversy while netizens took to social media to troll the party.
In response to the backlash, state BJP chief Somu Veeraju said he offered cheap liquor keeping the welfare of the poor man in mind. He said his promise was made with the intention that the poor would at least give some of their earnings to their families without spending them totally on their drinking vice.
