Bleaching power is one of the things that rose to high demand followed by facemasks and sanitisers during the Corona outbreak. The state government’s too ramped up sanitising the streets using chlorine and bleaching powers, especially in containment zones.
While Andhra Pradesh government claims to take up the sanitisation works on serious note irrespective of the zones, a roll of allegations over the bleaching powder procurement turned debatable in the state political circles. There have been allegations that the scamsters supplied lime powder in place of bleaching powder to East Godavari, Nellore and Krishna districts.
Reacting over the same, Telugu Desam Party former MLA Yarapathineni Srinivasa Rao urged the Centra Bureau of Investigation(CBI) to probe investigation in the Bleaching powder scam. He then lashed out on the government for not being vigilant enough while the state is at peril. In support of the allegations made, Yarapathineni reminded that the government officials ordered to burn the limestone factory in Piduguralla a few days after the enquiry was launched.
