Days after her feud with Bollywood firebrand Kangana Ranaut, actress Urmila Matondkar name hit to headlines yet again on Friday. However, this time it is speculations that the ‘Rangeela’ girl will be nominated to the state Legislative Council through Governor quota from Shiv Sena.
While an official announcement is yet to be made by the party, Sena’s chief spokesperson and MP Sanjay Raut discursively confirmed the development that the actress is amongst the 12 names recommended to the Governor for nomination to the Upper House of the state legislature.
Urmila who had been quite active in politics when in Congress resigned to the party last year and has been maintaining a safe distance from political developments. According to the sources at Sena, the actress is likely to be made the party’s spokesperson as well.
It was leant that the proposal got the approval from Maharastra government on Thursday while the ruling allies Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress have recommended four names each, reportedly. Apart from Urmila Matondkar, the names of Marathi actor and Shiv Sena leader Aadesh Bandekar, singer Anand Shinde, BJP-turned-NCP leader Eknath Khadse, farmer leader Raju Shetti are also doing rounds.
