Hours of high drama over the Narcotics Control Bureau(NCB) Summons to Rakul Preet Singh, the actress finally acknowledged that she received the summons in connection with drug paddlers in Mumbai.
After a lot of misunderstandings, followed by the actresses team claims that they have not received any summons from the NCB, Rakul has reportedly responded to the summons on Thursday afternoon.
NCB released an official statement and updated that Rakul has responded to their summons. The agency also confirmed that they had been issued summons to the actress digitally as well. Addressing the same, NCB’s officer KPS Malhotra accusing Rakul and her team of trying to ‘mislead’ the agency through her ‘excuses.’
Shortly after the agency reported that she or her team haven’t responded to the summons, Rakul Preet came around, accepting that summons was indeed with her and that she would now join the probe a day later, on Friday.
Source confirmed that the agency would soon serve a non-bailable warrant to her, if she fails the Friday’s interrogation. It can be noted that Rakul was summoned for questioning on Wednesday.
Further, the NCB sleuths revealed that Rakul and her team misled their team without confirming her whereabouts. “She didn’t let us known if she in Hyderabad or Mumbai,” said an official.
Rakul Preet had been summoned along with Simone Khambatta for questioning on Wednesday, while Deepika Padukone is summoned on Friday whereas Shraddha Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan are summoned on Saturday.
Earlier, Rakul had approached Delhi High Court against media trial, after her name surfaced in the drugs case. Her name reportedly surfaced in Rhea Chakraborty, the main accused’s statements over the connection with drug peddlers in Mumbai.
