In a major disappointment to former minister and TDP leader Akhila Priya, a Secunderabad court on Monday rejected the bail petition filed by the prime accused in the Bowenpally kidnap case. Besides which, Hyderabad City Police got three-day custody of Akhila Priya quoting a detailed questioning and more things to be investigated.
Following which the Bowenpally police took custody of Akhila Priya from the Central Prison in Chanchalguda and shifted her to the Women Police Station in Begumpet for questioning.
While Akhila’s lawyer told the court that he was not allowed to meet his client and urged the court to allow her access to medical treatment as she was pregnant, the judge straight away rejected the plea.
As the police booked the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader, along with her husband Bharghav Ram and eight other persons on January 6 for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping case, Akhila will be in police custody until January 13. Meanwhile, the court also dismissed the bail petition filed by Akhila’s defence counsel.
