Vishva Brahmins declared a full-fledged war against Minister KTR. The reason for that is his comments against them. KTR, who participated in a program recently, commented on Vishwabrahman caste “Chari? Pappu Charu? who is that useless fellow (roughly means an insensitive comment on Brahmins)”. The people of that social group are angry over this. Opposition party leaders are supporting them and the controversy is intensifying with time.
Vishwa Brahmins of Pirjadiguda staged a dharna. They protested on the road saying that it is not appropriate for KTR to speak in a way that insults Vishwa Brahmins. They demanded an immediate and unconditional apology from the minister to all the people of the caste group in the state.
A protest program was held under the leadership of Meerpet BJP corporator Bikshapati Chari. An effigy of KTR was burnt. They demanded an apology from both KCR and KTR to the Vishwa Brahmins. They warned that if it is not done as asked, they would carry forward an agitation across the state. Bikshapati questioned whether KTR would have enjoyed the post of the minister if Chari had not sacrificed himself in the Telangana movement.
Slogans of ‘KTR Down Down’ were heard in the Janagama district as well. The minister demanded an apology to the Vishwa Brahmins. They protested near Ambedkar Circle of Janagama to take back the inappropriate comments made against him.
Vishwa Brahmins questioned the relevancy of the Kalvakuntla family without Chari. Slogans like ‘Khabardar KCR and KTR’ are loudly heard across the state demanding an immediate apology.
