9 Hours…many questions; Kavitha attends ED’s interrogation!
On Saturday, 11th March 2023, MLC Kavitha meets the ED’s officials at Delhi as per the summons issued to her in liquor case. A five member ED team interrogated her along with Ramachandra Pillai and the interrogation lasted about 9 hours between 11AM and 8PM. As per reports, questions related to destroying the cell phones and also about the Hyderabad meetings have also come up. The entire proceedings were video recorded in the presence a woman official from the department.
According to emerging updates, the ED officials have questioned Kavitha from 11 AM to 8 PM. Kavitha arrived around 11 AM at ED’s office and by 8 PM only she could come out. In between a brief lunch break was also given. A Five member team, under the leadership of a Joint Director, has put on many questions to Kavitha during this marathon session. In this context, Kavitha was believed to have been asked to explain about her role in this liquor scam, her relationships with the accused and also about her investments in Indo Spirits Company as well. The officials have continued their questioning session as per the available proofs that were gathered by them during their investigation till date. Ramachandra Pillai was also attending the enquiry session along with her. On conclusion of the day’s proceedings, a beaming Kavitha who has emerged out of the ED’s office was taken to KCR’s Delhi home and there she was welcomed in a traditional way by the BRS cadre.
On the eve of Kavitha’s interrogation issue, there was high tension in Delhi. By morning itself, large numbers of BRS sympathizers, party workers and others have reached the ED’s office. However, the Police have imposed section 144 in and around the ED’s office and clarified there were no permissions for any kind of protests. It is believed that BRS party workers and sympathizers and others have planned for large scale protests just in case Kavitha gets arrested. The leaders of AAP party were also taken into confidence and discussions were in place as per available information. BRS leaders alleged that issuing summons to Kavitha is another way of trying to settle scores with opposition parties by the ruling BJP. At the end of today’s interrogation session, the ED has once again issued notices to Kavitha and asked her to be present on 16th March 2023 for further interrogation.
In this context, it is to be noted that MLC Kavitha has walked into ED’s office with lots of confidence and beaming with clenched fist and even after a long session of about 8 hours of interrogation also , she has exhibited the same spirit and self-confidence to the satisfaction her BRS party’s cadre. This gesture from her made the party workers, sympathizers and others elated and they have raised slogans in support of her before she was escorted and welcomed at KCR house in Delhi, in fact she was given a traditional ‘Mangal Harathis’ on her arrival at KCR’s house at Delhi.
