Seems like the state government has succeeded in postponing the Huzurabad by-election in the name of COVID situations. The Central Election Commission(EC) has recently announced that it has postponed the election schedule going by the state government’s concern over the festival season.
This drew a lot of criticism from oppositions who alleged the secret relationship between BJP and TRS at the state level. While allegations are leveled against the Central Electoral Commission as well, the supreme body for elections to come out clean sought a report from the Telangana government over the COVID severity in the state.
It was learned that the reports revealed the situation in Huzurabad has remained the same for the past two months after the election schedule. The EC also enquired about the schemes, funds allotted, and the other developments in the state.
The schedule is likely to be announced by the end of September after a full report on all issues. While the TRS is keen on conducting polls next year, sources have it that the polls will be conducted on either October 12th or October 15th.
