New twist in Telangana’s BJP story!
Nowadays, it looks like all is not well in Telangana’s BJP story! Ever since Bandi Sanjay’s comments on BRS MLC Kavitha were termed as controversial, trouble is brewing not only for Sanjay but also for the BJP in Telangana. According to reports, it was believed that senior leaders including MP Dharmapuri Aravind advised Sanjay to take back his comments on Kavitha. Several other leaders like him also expressed their reservations on Sanjay’s comments in this regard. Slowly but steadily different voices are coming out openly against the overall actions, interactions and comments of Bandi Sanjay, indicating that all is not well within the party and cadre also. People generally look forward for responsible and reasonable comments in a given situation from their leadership team in any political party. Bandi Sanjay generally comments on various issues related with women and fights for their cause with the government day in and day out. Ever since his comments on Kavitha, BRS MLC were termed as controversial by the people within and outside the party, BRS party vehemently objected to the comments and a number of protests and demonstrations were held at several places by the party leaders and cadre. It was also alleged that Sanjay’s comments may cause damage to BJP in the long run.
As per available information, another leader Perala Sekhar Rao also expressed his surprise over Bandi’s comments on Kavitha. He has pointed out a long list of controversial issues attributed to Sanjay while clarifying that type issues are not in tune with BJP’s culture and expressed his displeasure over Sanjay’s working style as well. Sekhar also threw a challenge stating that he is willing to prove all these allegations against Sanjay with clear examples. While supporting the comments purported to MP Dharmapuri Aravind, Sekhar says that whatever Aravind has said is 100% correct and even senior leaders like Kishan Reddy or Laxman also would have reacted in the same way. Sekhar while stating that whenever there is no democratic way of resolving issues within the party, social media is coming to the rescue and pointed out that the state leadership has to take the responsibility for the current state of affairs within the party. According to him, when BRS is weakening and local BJP leadership and cadre is getting excellent support from the national leadership, somehow the state leadership is unable to take advantage of the support extended at this crucial stage.
At times, Sanjay‘s comments on the spur of the moment also invited wrath from other leaders as well within BJP and even outside BJP. It’s natural for people to throw aspersions on others and that trend is not an exception in politics too. The political analysts also are of the view that there are large number of differences amongst individual leaders at every stage and it is high time that careful analysis of the same needs to be done and corrective measures are to be taken in the larger interests of the party. According to these political analysts, the internal differences need to be addressed on war footing before considerable damage is done to the party.
Now, there is trolling based on Bandi Sanjay’s comments made earlier on the film RRR. Now that RRR’s song ‘Naatu Naatu’ has won the Oscar award, Sanjay’s old videos and comments criticizing the film are emerging in the social media and getting wide coverage. These comments range from ‘giving warning to theatres screening this film would be burnt’ to his comments on the characterization of Komurum Bheem and many more. Now taking advantage of the current situation, leaders from BRS party are using those comments which were made earlier to their advantage, cornering Bandi. Now that RRR has won the prestigious award at the Oscars, the same individuals who have criticized the film RRR are now issuing congratulatory statements and commenting high on the excellence of the film in many words. Sanjay has already congratulated the entire unit of the film ‘RRR’ on getting the Oscar in the best original song category. Reacting to this, BRS cadre sarcastically questioned such people, if anyone is afraid of their warnings and worried about their criticism, whether RRR team could have gone up to winning an Oscar and ensuring the people across the globe feel great about Telugu films, Telangana and India and be aware of India’s greatness at such an important global platform. It was also pointed out that the Government of India should have nominated the film ‘RRR’ as the official entry rather than nominating the film from Gujarat ‘Chhello Show’ and thus India could have got another Oscar award, hopefully. Finally BRS people have also reminded about the fact that the ‘RRR’ film team members on their own have applied for the Oscar and participated in the pageant.
