Congress has called for the siege of Raj Bhavan across the country in protest of Rahul Gandhi’s trial. In this context, TPCC chief Revanth Reddy called on party leaders and activists to come to Khairatabad Junction. As mentioned the Congress ranks had gathered heavily. However, police were heavily deployed at the Raj Bhavan. They set up barricades and stood in the way.
Revanth Reddy took part in the protest. He was accompanied by many leaders including Jaggareddy, Bosuraju, Srinivas Krishnan, Geeta Reddy, and Mahesh Kumar. Traffic in Khairatabad came to a standstill with the arrival of heavy Congress ranks. Congress leaders and activists were blocked by the police. Revanth Reddy and Jaggareddy were arrested.
During the arrest of the Congress leaders, the police got into a heated argument with them. The Congress ranks chanted slogans against the central government.
