Snapping internet services, vigorous patrolling and increased the numbers of deployed police personnel…altogether, several parts in Uttar Pradesh reminded of war fields with anti-CAA protests taking violent turn after Friday prayers. According to the media reports, the death toll reached to 19 while almost 1,100 were detained by Friday in the state which has been witnessing a severe form of protest in India. The state’s police department has stated that about 288 policemen were injured including 61 men with firearm injuries.
Out of 75 districts of the state, the police have stopped internet services in 21 districts where protests were observed to be severe. Though the state DGP stated that the state has been under complete scrutiny, onwards incidence kept registering from various parts. Agra, Mathura, Firozabad, Saharanpur, Bijnor, Bulandshahr and Ghaziabad were observed to be the most-sensitive regions where police ensured of keeping a tight vigil to avert any further trouble.
