Accused of hurting religious sentiments of a section of a community through the comedy act, FIR has been filed against the yesteryear heroine Raveena Tandon. Along with her co-stars Farah Khan Kunder and Bharti Singh in YouTube comedy show, ‘The Backbenchers’, was registered by the Punjab Police against Raveena. According to the information from the sources, a protest was organised on Christmas Day in Anjala, Amritsar, by the Christian community against the comments made by the above trio for allegedly hurting their religious sentiments.
SSP Vikram Jeet Duggal stated that case under Section 295-A IPC along with the video footage of the show. Raveena has turned controversial off-late with a series of complaints against her. In October a Bihar-based-lawyer filed a complaint against Raveena for blocking traffic and causing inconvenience to the public. Her recent show Nach Baliya-9 also stirred controversy as one of the celebrity contestant pairs alleged faulty judgment.
