Days after slashing Anil Kumar Singhal from the post of Executive Officer of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam(TTD) followed by the trust turning the centre of debates over the declaration form issue, Jagan-led Andhra Pradesh government on Thursday appointed senior IAS officer Dr KS Jawahar Reddy to the vacant post.
Making the strong speculations true, AP Chief Secretary Nilam Sawhney on Wednesday night issued orders transferring the responsibilities 1990-batch officer to disposal of Revenue (Endowments) Department to post him as TTD EO. Earlier, Jawahar Reddy served as Special Chief Secretary (Health) at CMO.
However, the decision welcomed criticism as the post is touted to be be given to only senior-most IAS officers while Dharma Reddy an Indian defence estate services officer who was brought to AP on deputation. Anil Kumar Singhal, a 1993-batch IAS officer.
It can be noted that Singhal’s tenure was marked by the most discussed controversies such as the alleged missing jewels of Lord Venkateswara, hereditary rights of archakas, removal of chief priest AV Ramana Deekshitulu and the more recent proposed auction of temple lands.
