The AP cabinet meeting took prominence in the wake of the Amaravati farmers’ protests against the state government. While all the eyes were on the meeting, the Jagan-led government has dropped a bomb of sorts with the shocking decision taken with the approval of all the ministers. The AP government has announced that it would probe into the land purchases that took place during the formation of Amaravati. In the wake of rife allegations that insider trading in Amaravati during the previous regime. Perni Nani, Minister of Transport and I&PR took to the media meet to announce the same. He said that the state government would take the inputs from the central government regarding the CBI probe.
The minister also revealed that the cabinet has suggested Chief Minister to constitute a Hyper Committee to take opinions from all ends of the political spectrum including employees, ministers and bureaucrats. The committee was asked to submit the reports within the next three weeks which would also look into the transfers and promotions of the employees. While the media and political analyst speculated the government to take a clear stand on capital shift by the end of cabinet meets, sources revealed that besides the report from GNR committee, the government is awaiting Boston consultancy report which would probably be submitted by mid-January.
