The country is at doldrums while the states are witnessing the exponential increase in the number of Corona cases. Adding fuel to the current havoc, Nizamuddin congregation which took while the viral outbreak is at peaks turned into the current epicentre. With situations slipping out of hands, speculation went rife that the central government would extend the 21-day lockdown. Upon which the Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba said that the government currently has no plans of extending the lockdown span.
Despite the clarification offered the rumours didn’t seem to subside. However, the state Chief Ministers’ emergency meeting called by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday discursively shunned the rumours. It was learnt that the PM instructed the CM’s to take measure till April 14 and hinted over lifting the lockdown in a phased manner.
Meanwhile, a couple of renowned media outlets started reporting that Indian Railways which shut down its services will remain open from April 15 onwards. However, one of the senior officials revealed that service will be limited and would be increased in a phased manner. Though there is no official Staten regarding the extension, the above hints filled light in the citizens who are stuck in other cities with the PM calling for a lockdown.
